ABOUT THE PRESENTER: Dr. Jie Fowler is a Professor of Marketing and the Interim Department Chair of Management and Marketing at Valdosta State University. She holds a Ph.D. in Marketing from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and specializes in digital marketing, consumer behavior, and market research/analytics. She is certified in digital marketing by both the American Marketing Association and the Digital Marketing Institute.

Her achievements include being presented with the George Fisk Award in Macromarketing in Dublin, Ireland, as an example of one of her successes. In addition to that, she has had the good fortune to be awarded the Ogla Fellowship in Lincoln, Nebraska. Throughout her time at VSU, she published around 30 scholarly journal articles in nationally and internationally recognized top marketing journals such as the Journal of Advertising and the Journal of Advertising Research. She also presented at more than fifty conferences. At Valdosta State University, she teaches courses such as marketing research, creativity in brand promotion, and social media marketing, which she finds very enjoyable.

She previously held the position of Editor for the Society of Marketing Advances (SMA, former Southern Marketing Association) and currently holds the position of Treasurer. When November 2023 rolls around, she will be as President-Elect of SMA. She is also on the editorial board for the International Journal of Advertising and is an active member of the board for Macromarketing.
